Dr. April Megginson
Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Play Therapist
My name is April Megginson. I have a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts and a Registered Play Therapist. I have been working in the counseling field for over 18 years. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of therapy. Finding a good therapist can be like finding a good pair of shoes, you may have to try on a few before you find one that fits.

THERAPY SERVICES
I approach therapy with a humanistic lens, that means that I believe that YOU are truly the expert on you. It is my job to provide a supportive environment for us to examine what is and what isn’t working. I will walk with you and hold the flashlight as we explore some of the dark spaces that may be holding you back. Together, we will begin a journey to discover the life that you would like to live and gain the tools you need so you can begin living it.

I am an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Optum.
Anxiety & Depression
I specialize in treating anxiety and depression that are often the result of difficult life transitions, trauma, and grief.
Play Therapy
As a Registered Play Therapist I am trained to utilize play to help kids express their feelings through toys instead of words.
I am trained and have considerable experience working with gender expansive and transgender youths and their families.
Fees
I am currently an in-network provider for BCBS and Optum.
Additionally, I do provide Superbills so that you can work with your insurance in order to potentially be reimbursed by them.
