Gender Identity
Gender identity is a person's internal sense of self. When your inner sense of who you are doesn't match your sex assigned at birth it can lead to mental distress, anxiety, and/or depression. I work with youth and their families to navigate this journey and find ways to live your life authentically.
Resources For Support
PFLAG ​is the nation's largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. They offer parent support groups and have local chapters that you can become involved with.
The Mission of The Trevor Project is to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, & questioning young people. They provide crisis services, peer support, research, education, and advocacy.
Gender Spectrum works to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments for all children and teens. Gender Spectrum hosts free online groups for parents, caregivers, and other family members and adults.
Trans Student Educational Resources is a youth-led organization dedicated to transforming the educational environment for trans and gender non-conforming students through advocacy and empowerment.
The National Center for Transgender Equality advocates to change policies and society to increase understanding and acceptance of transgender people.
Our goal is to ensure that all LGBTQ+ people, and particularly those of us who are trans, people of color and HIV+, are treated as full and equal citizens within our movement, across our country and around the world.
